Prototype of Mental Protheses, 2023

The piece consists of two independently moving balls, serving as kinetic objects that gracefully levitate in space.

These spheres dynamically respond to natural parameters like temperature, air currents, and other moving objects.

I perceive them as a form of unpretentious mindfulness that offers a chance to delve into the performative nature of objects, while simultaneously sparking the viewer’s imagination.

The object is given a fictitious will to move involving the laws of physics and the world of mathematics. In this way, the objects are even more personified. The prototype was designed as a mental prosthesis, but especially in the incubator of the apiece gallery, it became clearly visible that it is more than a prosthesis, but an „OO” of the mental body that personally responds to changing parameters such as weather, energy currents, perhaps even the thoughts of passers-bys.
